The Story Chapter 5 Post Sermon
Today we were reminded to look at the story from the upper viewpoint, from God’s point of view. There is a bigger plan, and your lower story is part of that plan. Just as the above picture gives us a view of Baltimore from 30,000 feet in the air, so too God has a different view of our individual stories–God wants them to be a part of God’s bigger plan.
The same was true for the Israelites. God wants to “come down” and do life with them. Build a sanctuary, I will be with you; Need food, I will provide that too!
If you missed today’s message, you can find it on line here. (Click on Sermons and scroll to Chapter 5.)
We, too, forget that God wants to do “life with us. God has already come down not only in a very real presence with the Hebrew people, but in the form of God in the flesh, in Jesus Christ. Even after Jesus left he said he would not leave us as orphans, but that he would send the Holy Spirit to be with us.
God is resident in the here and now, but we, like the early Israelites, tend to forget. We forget that God has provided manna, we forget that God has provided for all of our needs.
Look at your life. Where has God provided for you in unexpected ways?
